The Lok Sabha on Thursday passed the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, popularly known as the VB-G RAM G Bill, amid strong protests by Opposition members who demanded greater scrutiny of the legislation.

The SHANTI Bill, 2025, ends India’s state nuclear monopoly, allowing private firms to operate Small Modular Reactors. It simplifies liability laws and strengthens regulatory oversight to achieve 100 GW by 2047.

Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh appeared before the Punjab and Haryana High Court via video conferencing, stating his detention under the NSA has hindered his parliamentary work for the constituency.

He submitted that his inability to attend Parliament affects his constitutional role.

The court has adjourned the matter for further hearing.  

Supreme Court On Constitution Amendment:ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ 25 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ। ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵਨਾ 'ਚ 1976 'ਚ ਪਾਸ ਹੋਏ 42ਵੀਂ ਸੋਧ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, 'ਸਮਾਜਵਾਦੀ' ਤੇ 'ਧਰਮ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ' ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 'ਸਮਾਜਵਾਦੀ' ਤੇ 'ਧਰਮ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ' ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
