Chandigarh- In view of the intensifying heatwave sweeping across Northern India, the Punjab Government has officially declared summer holidays for all government and private schools from June 2 to June 30, 2025.
The decision, announced by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, comes after a Red Alert was issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), warning of severe health risks for children and outdoor workers due to temperatures crossing 45°C in several districts including Bathinda, Ferozepur, and Mansa.
“Children’s health and safety are our top priority. We cannot risk exposing them to these extreme temperatures,” said CM Bhagwant Mann in a press briefing today.
