Hurricane Milton Wreaks Havoc in Florida: Over 3 Million Without Power

New Delhi: Hurricane Milton, now a Category 1 storm, has brought devastation to Florida, leaving over 3 million homes and businesses without power. The storm made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, on Wednesday night, with winds of up to 120 mph (195 kph).

Storm Aftermath

Flash Flooding: Heavy rains are expected to cause flooding inland along rivers and lakes, impacting the heavily populated Orlando area.

Tornadoes: Multiple tornadoes touched down across the state, destroying homes and claiming lives.

Power Outages: Sarasota and Manatee counties are among the hardest hit, with the highest number of power outages.

Damage: Tropicana Field's roof was ripped off, and multiple cranes were toppled.

Relief Efforts

Taylor Swift has donated $5 million to Feeding America to support hunger relief efforts for those affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. A star-studded benefit concert is also planned to raise funds for the victims.
